Beschrijving: From 22-24 September 2003 the international conference Globalization and National Environmental Policy took place at Veldhoven, the Netherlands. The conference was held on the changing position of national environmental policy due to globalization, taking stock of changes in government interventions in response to increasingly global spheres of influence. Around 60 experts from supranational organizations, various tiers of government, business, non-governmental organizations, and academia highlighted the interrelations among globalization and national environmental policy from a variety of perspectives.

The results of the conference are published as conference proceedings, edited by Frank Wijen, Kees Zoeteman, and Jan Pieters. The 'Handbook on Globalisation and Environmental Policy – National Government Interventions in a Global Arena' is published by Edward Elgar Publishing Limited, Cheltenham (UK), in Spring 2005.
