Beschrijving: An international conference was held on the changing position of national environmental policy due to globalization, taking stock of changes in government interventions in response to increasingly global spheres of influence. Around 60 experts from supranational organizations, various tiers of government, business, non-governmental organizations, and academia highlighted the interrelations among globalization and national environmental policy from a variety of perspectives.

The results of the conference will be presented as conference proceedings. Twenty-eight papers will be included in a Handbook on Globalisation and Environmental Policy, to be published by Edward Elgar, Cheltenham, UK, in Autumn 2004.
