Beschrijving: The ninth international Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing (FAIM) conference presented a unique forum for the presentation of an integrated picture of the emerging technologies which will drive new product and process innovation. Today’s manufacturing companies operate in a global and highly competitive environment and must continually innovate to achieve World Class Status. The Netherlands has a long history of manufacturing in electronics, chemicals, and engineering, and despite a decline in many of these industries it maintains a strong manufacturing base.

During the conference authors from more than 25 countries presented over 100 papers, adding significantly to the international knowledge base in the manufacturing sector.
